Lanxiu Garden, with its central stele corridor, features ancient architectural structures to the west, housing the memorial room of the renowned painter Pu Hua (also known as Pu Zhuying, a native of Jiaxing, a late Qing calligrapher and painter, and founder of the Shanghai School of painting).
Lanxiu Garden is centered around the ‘Wenxing Bridge’ and the ‘Antique Street’, divided into a southern and northern garden. The northern garden was completed in May 1994 and is open to the public, while the southern garden is still in the planning stage.
The western side of the northern garden is symmetrically arranged along the central axis, featuring a four-deep courtyard style, while the eastern side boasts a free and open garden layout.
