Laoshan Mountain

Laoshan Mountain is located in the east of Qingdao. Its east and south sides are bordered by the Yellow Sea. It has the reputation of a ‘famous mountain on the sea’. The highest peak is Jufeng Peak with an altitude of about 1100 meters. Laoshan Mountain has become a famous Taoist mountain with its magnificence, grandeur, uniqueness and beauty. The Taoist temples, sunrise and sea of clouds in Laoshan Mountain are all famous for a long time.

Laoshan Mountain is mainly composed of seven scenic areas: Jufeng, Liuqing, Taiqing, Qipanshi, Yangkou, Beijiushui and Hualou. There are four tourist routes in total, including three land routes (southern line, eastern line and central line) and one water route. The scenery of these scenic spots: Jufeng Sunrise, Taiqing Moonlight, Haiqiao Xiandun, Hualou Piled Stones, Jiushui Mingyi and others together form the Twelve Scenes of Laoshan Mountain.

Hualou is far away from the sea and not in Laoshan District, so there are fewer tourists. Beijiushui is beautiful for its water. There are streams and springs everywhere in the scenic area, and the scenery is beautiful. For ordinary tourists, what is really worth visiting are the Jufeng Peak and Liuqing-Yangkou routes. Playing on these two routes for one day each is enough. Jufeng Peak and Yangkou are exactly where the natural beauty of Laoshan Mountain lies.

Liuqing-Yangkou is also called the southern line. It is a scenic area developed earlier in Laoshan Mountain scenic area. It is close to the coastline and has the famous scenic spot Taiqing Palace. It is the route that most people take to visit Laoshan Mountain. The basic route to enter the scenic area is Liuqing-Taiqing Palace Scenic Area-Huayan Temple, and the destination is Yangkou. Since the essence of this route lies in Yangkou, it is recommended that tourists can arrange their own time to visit the previous scenic spots.

Taiqing Palace – the place where the story of the Taoist priest in Laoshan Mountain in Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio took place. In those years, Pu Songling came here and was inspired by seeing Taiqing Palace and wrote ‘The Taoist Priest of Laoshan Mountain’ here. Tourists can see the wall where the Taoist priest in Laoshan Mountain passed through walls as described by Pu Songling. Huayan Temple – the existing Buddhist temple in Laoshan Mountain.

Since Yangkou is close to the Yellow Sea, you can see the sea and enjoy the breeze here. Of course, in addition to the beautiful scenery, Yangkou is also famous for the challenging Mitian Cave. This cave is winding, steep and narrow. In the dark, you can’t see your fingers. In the narrow place, you can barely pass by squeezing your body, greatly increasing the fun in the playing process. You can walk or take a cable car to Mitian Cave.

When you climb to the top of the mountain, you can take pictures, enjoy the scenery and overlook the Yellow Sea. Also remember to bring a flashlight so that you can see the beautiful scenery in the cave. In addition to Yangkou, the second beautiful scenery of Laoshan Mountain is in Jufeng Scenic Area. Jufeng Peak is where the main peak of Laoshan Mountain is located, and Laoding is the highest point.

Here is mainly for climbing mountains and is a place that consumes more physical strength in Laoshan tourism. Jufeng Peak is full of piled-up rocks and has a magnificent momentum. You can see the sea on a sunny day and the sea of clouds on a cloudy day. Watching the sunrise on Laoding, you can see an extremely beautiful and charming picture.
