Li Bai Cultural Park is a haven of natural beauty and cultural richness, located in Dangtu, Anhui. This region is celebrated for its picturesque landscapes and its deep historical ties to the great Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai, who lived from 701 to 762. Nestled at the foot of the verdant Daqing Mountain, the park serves as the eternal resting place for Li Bai, who was deeply connected to Dangtu and the Green Hills throughout his eventful life of 62 years. He passionately commemorated the area in over fifty literary works, leaving behind a legacy of fascinating legends.
The park itself, with the lush Daqing Mountain as its backdrop and the ever-flowing Qingshan River at its forefront, provides a serene environment enveloped by forests and waters. It boasts more than twenty scenic spots, such as the Memorial Archway, Taibai Stele Forest, Gaoping Pavilion, Taibai Temple, Li Bai’s Tomb, Shiyong Pavilion, and Qinglian Academy. Visitors can immerse themselves in the seasonal blooms of azaleas in spring, lotus in summer, osmanthus in autumn, and wintersweet in winter, all set against a backdrop of pavilions, towers, bamboo groves, and meandering waters, creating a harmonious and complementary scene.
The mountain, revered as the resting place of the poet’s soul, is characterized by its pristine waters, lush forests, and picturesque ravines. From the south, it appears as a blooming lotus, while from the north, it resembles a pair of celestial gates reaching towards the heavens.
