The Li Shutong Memorial Hall is located in Shutong Park. Dayingzhou was built in the 37th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1558). In the past, nine waters converged and surrounded it. It was like nine dragons playing with pearls between the vast ocean. Therefore, it has the reputation of nine dragons playing with pearls. The memorial hall is built on the lake by the continent. Its architectural shape is an elegant and pure white lotus flower and is a landmark building in the Donghu Scenic Area.
The main building of the memorial hall has two floors. On the second floor, there are seven exhibition rooms and a circular exhibition hall that can display hundreds of calligraphy and painting works. In the middle is the statue of Li Shutong – Master Hongyi carved from white marble from Jiuzhaigou, weighing 20 tons. The exhibition rooms use Li Shutong’s life photos and historical materials from different periods to display Li Shutong’s extraordinary life trajectory from the aspects of calligraphy, painting, seal engraving, music, drama, poetry, education, Buddhist achievements and social influence, and show Li Shutong’s spiritual journey from the secular world to the Buddhist gate for the world to pay tribute to, remember and study.Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday all year round from 09:00 to 17:00; Closed all day on Monday all year round.
