Lihu Park is located at the north end of the Lihu Bridge, leaning against the bridge and facing the lake, offering a scenic view and covering an area of 15.8 hectares, making it an important node in the Lihu scenic belt. The park began construction in March 2004 and was opened to the public on the eve of the National Day of the same year. In its design and construction, the park draws on the strengths of traditional gardens and European parks to create a high-quality green space, integrating leisure, gathering activities, and commercial functions into a tourist and leisure center. The park’s four major landscapes, ‘Spring Charm, Summer Elegance, Autumn Rhythm, and Winter Solidity,’ are skillfully arranged, showcasing the beauty of the Jiangnan region through seasonal flora. Surrounded by water, the park uses water to create scenery, with twelve small bridges adding to the water town’s charm. Within the park, there is a garden named Shi Garden, inspired by the historical legend of Fan Li and Xi Shi boating on Lihu Lake. The garden is embraced by lush forests and tall bamboos, surrounded by winding paths and quiet streams, with a clear pool of water resembling a moon mirror, opening up a new world. The four pavilions, Liuyun, Tianyuan, Yuehong, and Qinghui, face each other and complement one another. The water-encircled Shui Jing Lang, which is arc-shaped and 286.7 meters long, combines Chinese and Western styles in a unique design. The interior is engraved with famous poems, paintings, and photographic works praising Taihu Lake from ancient and modern times, highlighting the rich culture of Taihu and the long-standing civilization of the five lakes. In front of the corridor, there is a pool of clear water filled with lotus flowers, standing tall and emitting a pleasant fragrance. The ‘Taihu Star’ Ferris wheel, standing 115 meters high, is located by the lakeside of the park. Riding the Wuxi Lihu Ferris wheel, one can not only see the scenic spots of Taihu Lake such as Taihu Fairy Island and Luding Mountain but also overlook the city of Wuxi. After nightfall, the Ferris wheel’s electronic decorations will create beautiful scenes. This water Ferris wheel, together with the Lihu Bridge, forms a landmark of Wuxi’s lakeside city and becomes a spectacular gateway to Taihu New City’s CBD. Opening hours: Open all day, every day.
