Ling Shui Ju is a rare grand-scale private garden in the water town, with its bright and beautiful, elegant and simple, winding and secluded features. On the east side of Ling Shui Ju lies the memorial hall and cemetery of Mr. Mao Dun, as well as the memorial halls of Wang Huilu, Kong Lingjing, and Shen Zemin, making this place a spiritual hub and a ‘red tourism’ site for revolutionary tradition education.
Upon entering the garden, the first thing that catches the eye is a winding wall, engraved with traditional Chinese patterns, featuring ‘Double Dragons Playing with a Pearl’ in the center and ‘Plum Bamboo and Crane’ on both sides. Passing through the windows, one can appreciate the garden’s stone mountains, beautiful waters, and green trees, capturing the essence of landscape through the windows. It is recorded that in the early years of the Chongzhen era, scholar Tang Long built this private garden, naming it ‘Ling Shui Xian Ju’, which was later destroyed by war. The garden we see today has been restored to its original state. For specific opening hours, please consult the scenic area.Must Read
