Ling Shui Ju is a rare grand private garden in a water town, characterized by its bright and beautiful, elegant and simple, winding and secluded features.
Mr. Mao Dun’s memorial hall and cemetery are located to the east of Ling Shui Ju, along with memorial halls for Wang Huihu, Kong Lingjing, and Shen Zemin, all situated within Ling Shui Ju, making it a place full of spiritual energy and a sacred site for revolutionary traditional education known as ‘red tourism.’ Upon entering the garden, the first thing that catches the eye is a meandering wall, engraved with traditional Chinese style patterns, featuring ‘Double Dragons Playing with a Pearl’ in the center and ‘Plum Bamboo and Cranes’ on both sides. Passing through the window, one can appreciate the garden’s rocky mountains, beautiful waters, and lush greenery, capturing the essence of the scenery. It is recorded that Tang Long, a scholar of the early Chongzhen era, built this private garden here, naming it ‘Ling Shui Xianju.’ It was later destroyed due to war. The garden we see today has been restored to its original state. For specific opening times, please consult the scenic area.Ling Shui Ju: A Grand Private Garden in a Water Town
