Lingqi Cave is the location for shooting many classic hit dramas such as Journey to the West, Investiture of the Gods, and The Butterfly Lovers. The uniqueness of Lingqi Cave lies in its three karst caves with different styles, which can bring tourists three completely different cave exploration experiences. Small wooden boat tour of Lingquan Cave scenic area. The three natural limestone caves open to tourists are Lingquan Cave, Qingfeng Cave, and Aiyun Cave, as well as a small patch of stone forest maze.

Entering the scenic area, Lingquan Cave, which is reached first, has a rich underground water system. You need to take a small wooden boat to tour. The tour takes about 10 minutes. This wet tour is very cool. Standing at the cave entrance, you can feel the slightest coolness coming from the depths of the cave. Entering the cave by boat and looking around, you can see all kinds of strange stones illuminated by colorful lights.

The reflection in the water is even more dreamy. The boatman will point out the outstanding scenic spots for you to notice. Occasionally, water drops fall from the cave ceiling. In low places, people on the boat even need to bend down to pass through, giving people a sense of mystery like an underground exploration. This is the shooting location of the 1983 edition of Journey to the West. Inside the cave, by the shore, there stands a small white dragon sculpture, which is the prop left over from the shooting back then.

It can accidentally evoke the childhood memories of people born in the 1980s. Qingfeng Cave for summer escape. After exiting Lingquan Cave and continuing to walk up for a while, you will arrive at Qingfeng Cave on the mountainside. As the name suggests, Qingfeng Cave is famous for its wind. The temperature inside the cave remains at around 17 degrees all year round. There is a continuous cool breeze.

Coming here to escape the summer heat is a good choice. Inside Qingfeng Cave, the strange stones are vividly shaped like four spiritual beasts: dragon, phoenix, unicorn, and tortoise. It is said that the name ‘Lingqi’ comes from this. Aiyun Cave to enjoy the clouds. Continuing forward, to reach Aiyun Cave at a higher place, you need to walk a short section of uphill road. The mountain is not high and will not be too tiring.

However, to see the clouds overflowing from Aiyun Cave still requires some coincidences. On days just after rain or in winter, the probability of seeing them is greater. In comparison, the landscape inside Aiyun Cave is magnificent. Inside the cave, two ‘coiled dragon double pillars’ as high as 20 meters connect the cave ceiling and the ground, which is quite imposing. In the ‘East China Sea wonders’ cave hall, there is a ‘Dinghai Divine Needle’ only 10 centimeters in diameter but 7 meters high, which makes people marvel.

After visiting the three caves, you can walk down the mountain on the same route. At the intersection near Qingfeng Cave, turn right and go to the stone forest maze to admire pictographic stones of different shapes. If you want to save energy, you can also take the slide directly to the foot of the mountain. The slide costs about 45 yuan per person. Generally speaking, it is relatively stable. But when turning, it is still enough to make people’s hearts race, which can be regarded as an interesting experience.
