Lingqi Cave is the filming location for classic and popular dramas such as ‘Journey to the West’, ‘Investiture of the Gods’, and ‘The Butterfly Lovers’. The uniqueness of Lingqi Cave lies in its three distinctive karst caves, offering visitors three entirely different cave-exploring experiences.

Visitors to the Lingquan Cave scenic area have access to three natural limestone caves: Lingquan Cave, Qingfeng Cave, and Aiyun Cave, along with a small stone forest maze. Upon entering the scenic area, the first cave, Lingquan Cave, boasts an abundant groundwater system and requires a small wooden boat for exploration, with a tour duration of about 10 minutes. This damp journey is refreshingly cool; one can feel the slight chill emanating from the depths of the cave just by standing at the entrance. As you enter the cave by boat, you are surrounded by peculiar rocks illuminated by colorful lights, with reflections in the water creating a dreamlike scene. The boatman will guide your attention to the notable features, and occasional water droplets falling from the cave ceiling add to the sense of mystery, with some low spots requiring passengers to duck to pass through, evoking a sense of underground adventure. This site was used for the filming of the 1983 version of ‘Journey to the West’, and a small White Dragon sculpture stands on the cave’s shore, a prop left from the filming that can inadvertently trigger childhood memories for those born in the 1980s.

After Lingquan Cave, visitors can continue to ascend to the Qingfeng Cave located halfway up the mountain. As the name suggests, Qingfeng Cave is known for its refreshing breezes, with a constant temperature of around 17 degrees Celsius and a continuous flow of fresh air, making it an ideal place to escape the summer heat. Inside Qingfeng Cave, the peculiar rocks are shaped like the four spiritual creatures of dragon, phoenix, qilin, and tortoise, which are said to be the origin of the name ‘Lingqi’.

Moving forward to the higher Aiyun Cave requires a short uphill hike, which is not too strenuous. However, witnessing the mist overflowing from Aiyun Cave requires a bit of serendipity, with a higher likelihood of seeing it on days following rain or during winter. In contrast, the scenery inside Aiyun Cave is magnificent, with two 20-meter-tall ‘Dragon Pillars’ connecting the cave ceiling to the ground, exuding grandeur; in the ‘East Sea Wonder’ hall, there is a ‘Sea-Fixing Needle’ that is only 10 centimeters thick but 7 meters tall, which is truly astonishing.

After touring the three caves, visitors can either walk back down the mountain or take a right at the intersection near Qingfeng Cave to visit the stone forest maze, which features various shaped pictographic stones. For a more effortless descent, one can opt for a slide that takes you directly to the foot of the mountain for an additional fee of approximately 45 yuan per person. The slide is generally smooth, but it can still quicken the heartbeat during turns, making it an interesting experience.

Reputed as the ‘Underground Art Palace’, this year the scenic area has introduced the Lingqi Koala Forest Adventure Project from France. The equipment is all imported from France and uses the world’s advanced and safe Koala Lifeline system, making it one of the few forest adventure parks in China certified to the EU EN15567 standard.
Whether it is children, teenagers or adults, they can all experience the tree adventure challenge project in the original ecological forest environment here and fully enjoy the fun of climbing, leaping and bungee jumping in the forest. “Koala Forest” is the best place for you to stay away from the noisy city, fully challenge yourself, enjoy the beautiful scenery and achieve a sense of inner accomplishment. Be a bit more childish and happiness comes easily. Everyone has a never-grown-up self hidden in their heart. Loving to play is our nature. The jungle adventure in Lingqi Koala Forest, an original ecological paradise growing in nature, adopts the world’s leading safe and smooth Koala lifeline system. Mount Tai’s great leap, free fall descent, cliff climbing, flying hundred-meter zip line, suspended bridge in the air, swinging net path… One by one, interesting, challenging and novel checkpoints are connected in a line. They are of different difficulties and styles, and everywhere contains the beauty of childlike innocence. One second you are still screaming loudly hovering in the air, and the next second you become laughing heartily after sliding smoothly to the end! The exciting experience is thrilling but without danger. It is a double adventure of height and speed. If you successfully challenge the whole course without closing your eyes, you are the “child king” of Koala Forest.
