Lingshan Cave, historically known as ‘Yunquan Lingdong’ and now named ‘Lingshan Fantasy Realm’, is a national AAA-level scenic spot located on the hillside of Lingshan Village in Shuangpu Town, and it is the core attraction of Hangzhou’s Lingshan Scenic Area. The Lingshan Fantasy Realm is a rare vertical double-layered limestone cave, also a large-scale karst cave spectacle within the urban area of Hangzhou.
The overall karst topography is well-developed, with a height difference from the bottom to the top of the cave reaching 109 meters. The cave has natural ventilation, keeping it warm in winter and cool in summer. The total space area of the Lingshan Fantasy Realm exceeds 4000 square meters, divided into upper and lower cave sections. Entering from the lower cave, one is greeted by a gentle breeze accompanied by the sound of flowing springs, with stalagmites, stalactites, and flowstones scattered and arranged in a dreamlike and bizarre manner, as if one has just seen dragons and mythical creatures, and then encountered strange flowers and plants, and the five grains of mulberry and millet; it feels as if one has arrived at a palace of jade and jade, and then entered a royal garden filled with pavilions and towers, truly dazzling and overwhelming. Various shaped karst formations are incredibly lifelike and vivid. Tongjian Lake Park is located in Shuangpu Town, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, bordering Yunqi Town and Yichuang Town to the north, connected to Hangzhou Lingshan Scenic Area and Xishan National Forest Park to the west, and adjacent to Shuangpu New District to the east. It is a perfect combination of modern urban flood control, drainage, and regulation projects with the development of ancient historical famous lakes. Here, we can enjoy natural landscapes, appreciate cultural heritage, and observe water conservancy projects. The Tongjian Lake area covers a total area of 4.33 square kilometers, with natural mountain areas of 1.5 square kilometers, green park areas of about 1.5 square kilometers, and lake areas of 1.35 square kilometers, equivalent to one-fifth of West Lake. The lake bottom elevation is 2.5 meters, and the lake surface elevation is 6. 5 meters (average water depth of 4 meters), with a total storage capacity of 5 million cubic meters and a regulation storage capacity of 3.2 million cubic meters. Tongjian Lake focuses on ‘one axis, three cores, and twelve scenes’. The axis refers to the overall planning with water as the main axis. It inherits the cultural main axis of Tongjian Lake’s ‘water shield and perch’ and famous anecdotes, while expanding the water surface of Tongjian Lake as the spatial main axis, integrating all resources within the area in both time and space dimensions to form a complete tour route. The three cores are the three major themes of ‘pastoral, wetland, and culture’, closely following the overall positioning of ‘ecology, culture, and industry’. They are both a refinement of the current resources and an elevation of regional development. Tongjian Lake combines flood control, drainage, and regulation projects with the restoration of ancient lakes, not only meeting the development needs of modern cities but also recreating the natural scenery of Tongjian Lake in history, creating a scenic and tourist destination that integrates landscape, historical culture, and leisure experience.
