Lisu Old Street is one of the few remaining ancient streets in Suzhou, associated with Fan Li, who, according to the ‘Gazetteer of Suzhou Prefecture’, built a villa here. The street has preserved many traditional features and is close to the Shih Lake Scenic Area, making it a relatively close ancient town to the urban area of Suzhou, yet hidden amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
Lisu Old Street exemplifies the typical Suzhou architectural style with rivers as its backdrop, divided into Shang Tang Street and Xia Tang Street by a small river. On both sides of the river, there are old-style brick and tile structures that face the water. It has not yet undergone renovation, resembling an elderly person in their twilight years.
The Lisu Ancient Bridge Group is distributed on both sides of Lisu Port in the ancient town of Lisu, including Lisu Bridge, Xu Mao Bridge, Yongxing Bridge, Taiping Bridge, and Wulong Bridge. This place was also once famous for its embroidery, eyeglasses, and shipbuilding industries, rich in cultural resources. The opening hours are subject to the actual operating status on the day.
