The Liushan Lake tourist scenic area plans a total investment of 150 million yuan and covers an area of 500 mu. It mainly includes seven major scenic areas such as the Buddhist culture area, geological park area, and Chinese chess culture area. The seven-story pagoda, ten-meter-tall Buddha statue, and multiple cliff carvings add many attractions to the entire scenic area.
The Liushan Lake scenic area is located in Shi Ji Township, Sihong County. ‘A mountain need not be high; it is famous if there is an immortal. A lake need not be deep; it has a spirit if there is a dragon.’ Liushan was originally not very high, with an altitude of less than 100 meters. After thousands of years of artificial mining, Liushan has now disappeared from the surface and become an underground mountain.

At the same time, due to long-term mining, an underground lake has formed. Therefore, underground mountains and underground lakes are a major feature of the Liushan Lake scenic area. The characteristics of Liushan Lake are’steep walls and deep water’. The rock walls are vertical and several dozen meters high; and the lake water is very deep, with a depth of more than 20 meters. Huangshan has the Welcoming Pine, and Liushan has the Welcoming Trees.

The Welcoming Trees of Liushan are one male and one female. Liushan has a long history. As early as the Western Han Dynasty, people lived here. Because when construction excavation was carried out, a large number of bricks and broken pottery pieces were unearthed. After identification, the bricks are all Han bricks. And the unearthed pottery pieces include red pottery, gray pottery, and sand-mixed pottery.

After identification, they are typical pottery from the early Western Han Dynasty. Under the grass skiing field, many broken pottery pieces were unearthed in a concentrated manner. It is speculated that there may have been a kiln site below in the Western Han Dynasty.
