Longjing Village is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is on the southwest side of the West Lake Scenic Area. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, it shows a trend of high in the north and low in the south. There are about 800 permanent residents in the village and nearly 800 acres of alpine tea gardens. To the northwest of the village, Beigao Peak, Shizifeng Peak, and Tianzhufeng Peak form a natural barrier to block the invasion of the northwest cold wind. To the south is Jiuxi. The valley is deep and wide and directly leads to the Qiantang River. The southeast wind in spring and summer easily enters the valley. The geographical conditions of ventilation provide unique advantages for the growth of Longjing tea. The Longjing tea produced here ranks first among ‘Lion, Dragon, Cloud, and Tiger’. Legend has it that when Emperor Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, he once tasted West Lake Longjing tea at Hugong Temple at the foot of Shifeng Mountain in Longjing Village. After drinking it, he was full of praise and conferred the eighteen tea trees in front of the temple as ‘imperial tea’. Longjing Village is famous all over the world for producing West Lake Longjing tea. It is adjacent to Xizi Lake in the east, Wuyun Mountain in the west, the surging Qiantang River flowing eastward in the south, and the North and South Peaks inserted into the clouds in the north. Surrounded by green mountains and clouds, it is like an emerald gem inlaid on the bank of Xizi Lake. The village is rich in tourism resources. Tourist attractions such as the imperial tea garden, Hugong Temple, Jiuxi Shiba Jian, Shili Langdang, and Lao Longjing are dotted among them, adding a strong cultural atmosphere to the tea town. The renovation project has reshaped the mountain stream landscape of Longjing Village, reproduced the mountain landscape style of tea town farmers’ residences going up the stream and living by choosing water, and basically restored the natural village style with the characteristics of West Lake Longjing tea town. Open all year round, open all day.
