The Longyou Residential Garden is located on the beautiful Jiming Mountain. It faces Longyou County across the Lingshan River and is a treasured place with mountains and rivers. The residential buildings on the mountain are all Huizhou-style architectures from the Ming and Qing dynasties. After a series of evaluations and screenings, the local government gathered the buildings scattered among the folk in Longyou countryside that are worthy of preservation and transplanted them here for reconstruction according to their original appearances, forming a specific residential tourist area. Tourists can enjoy the excellent residential buildings of Longyou here. The buildings here are themed on the Longyou Merchant Group. They are either merchant residences or official residences, which have a different flavor from the ancient villages in southern Anhui and Wuyuan. Among the relocated and reconstructed residences are 34 ancient buildings including Gong’s Residence, Yu’s Residence, Zishu Hall, Juxing Hall, Gaogang Qifeng Hall, Wu’s Hall, Lao’s Residence, Lingshan Huating, Yixiu Pavilion, Shao’s Small Hall and Wang’s Residence. Some cultural relics are also preserved. These buildings are the crystallization of the wisdom and labor of the ancient working people in Longyou and also witnesses to the history of the Longyou Merchant Group. You can stroll along the ancient commercial street or enter the residences to appreciate them carefully. Since there are no people living here and there are not many tourists, it is very suitable to take photos of the buildings. The Longyou Residential Garden is not far from the Longyou Grottoes. It takes about ten minutes by car. You can buy a combined ticket for a visit (100 yuan). Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 16:30.
