Luojia Mountain is located to the southeast of Putuo Mountain Island. It is like a ‘minor planet’ of Putuo Mountain. Looking from the coast on the east side of the main island, Luojia Mountain is like a huge Buddha lying on the sea surface and has the reputation of ‘reclining Buddha on the sea’. To go to Luojia Mountain, one needs to take a boat from Putuo Mountain Island. There are not many tourists on the island. The Buddhist temples and lighthouse are must-see landscapes. Entering the mountain gate of Putuo Mountain and walking to the right for about 5 minutes, you will reach Luojia Cihang. Take the ferry to Luojia Mountain from Duangu Passenger Terminal. After sailing on Lianhuayang for about 30 minutes, you can arrive. Usually, there is one departure daily at 8:00, 9:00, and 13:00 respectively. The round-trip fare is 70 yuan. The departure times from Luojia Mountain are 10:00, 11:00, and 15:00. The above time and fare information are for reference. The ferry schedule may be adjusted due to weather and the number of tourists. It is recommended to consult the terminal before traveling or refer to the official website of the scenic area. On the mountain, there are Yuantong Buddhist Temple (Yuantong Nunnery), Dabei Hall, Dajue Hall, Qielan Hall, Five Hundred Arhat Pagoda, Forty-Eight Vows Pagoda, etc. for worship. Longquan ancient well, fairy bridge and Crystal Palace are full of ancient charm. It is worth mentioning that the lighthouse on the small hill in the northeast is the legendary ‘Luojia lights’. In ancient times, this lighthouse was just a celestial lantern platform used to guide sea ships at night. The ancients once praised it as ‘a glimmering light illuminates the lost way, its light outshines the sun and moon wheels of Sumeru’. Now, the celestial lantern platform has been rebuilt into Luojia Mountain International Lighthouse to guide the direction for passing ships. However, tourists cannot enter for a visit and can only look from afar at the stone tablet of ‘Luojia Lingshan’. Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:30 to 13:00.
