Luoma Lake, located in the northern part of Jiangsu Province, spans across Suqian and Xinyi cities. It is situated between latitude 34° and 34°11′, and longitude 118.04′ to 118.18′, also known as Le Ma Lake, Luo Ma Lake, Ma Le Lake, and Long Ma Lake. The lake covers an area of over 370 square kilometers. The eastern shore is characterized by hilly mountainous terrain, while the northern, western, and southern shores are all embankment plains with a lakebed elevation of 18-21 meters.


There are more than 60 islands of various sizes, over 20 types of aquatic plants including reeds, lotus roots, water chestnuts, and cattails, and it is rich in more than 10 species of aquatic products such as silver fish, bighead carp, river shrimp, white shrimp, and crabs. Luoma Lake has been designated as a water wetland protection area in northern Jiangsu by the provincial government and serves as an important transfer station for the South-to-North Water Transfer Project.


It is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
