Luxu Historical and Cultural District

Luxu Historical and Cultural District is located in Wujiang District, Suzhou City.
The ancient town of Luxu is bordered by the Taipu River to the north, extends to the Nanzha Port to the south, faces Zhejiang Province across the Luxu Pond, is adjacent to the Fen Lake to the west, and reaches the Huai Zi Port to the east.

It had already become a village during the Three Kingdoms period, and during the Southern Dynasties, Liang Taizu’s Doctor Gu Ye Wang’s sons, An Rao and An Wen, settled here, hence the name.


Luxu’s intangible cultural heritage is renowned both domestically and internationally, featuring the Luxu Mountain Songs and the Luxu Fast Boat Rowing.
