Mazhou Park is a large-scale comprehensive public park in Jingjiang. The park fully reflects the regional characteristics and aquatic ecological features of Jingjiang, which are ‘sandbars, sandy shores, old banks, and dikes’. The attractions are arranged in a ribbon-like layout around Rong Lake, creating a unique ‘water conservancy bonsai’. It includes 15 main attractions such as Rong Lake Square, Fisherman’s Moonlit Boat, Musical Fountain, Stone Spring, Solitary Hill Fishing by Moonlight, Green Waves and Golden Sand, Cultural Stele Wall, Scenic Stone Waterfall, Nine-Turn Bridge, Sandy Peach Garden, White Dove Golden Bridge, Children’s World, Bamboo Grove, Lake Viewing and Music Listening, and Rong Lake Pearl. Several smaller attractions are interspersed among them. Covering an area of over 330 mu, Mazhou Park has become the main place for leisure and entertainment for the people of Jingjiang since its completion.
On November 8, 2009, at the Happy China Tour stage, the song ‘Love of Rong Lake’ was soul-stirring, which made the people of Jingjiang compete to download and sing. The ‘Rong Lake’ in this song refers to Mazhou Park in Jingjiang. Overlooking Rong Lake, you will find that it is naturally divided into a larger and smaller water surface from north to south by the peninsula and White Dove Golden Bridge, forming a roughly horseshoe shape, which fits the theme of ‘Mazhou’. The shape of the lake surface seems like the profile of a Jingjiang girl, dignified and beautiful, graceful and generous. On the southwest side of the park, there is a Cultural Stele Wall, 90 meters long and 2 meters high, with 10 black granite reliefs reflecting the history and culture of Jingjiang for hundreds of years since its opening and establishment. The stele wall is carved from north to south with White Horse Carrying Sand, Mazhou Ancestors, Opening and Establishment, Han Hui Water Control, Anti-Japanese Struggle, Anti-British Struggle, Solitary Hill Temple Fair, Treasure Scroll Hometown, and Full of Love for Thousands of Sails. The entire stele wall is arranged in a folded shape, as if opening a thick historical album. Reading the stele wall carefully, it seems like walking into the past, present, and future of Jingjiang. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the actual opening situation on the day.
