Mei Shudi Scenic Area is located in Gaofeng Village, Dong’an Township, Changshan County, and is the second national 4A-level scenic spot in Changshan. The area is characterized by its canyon ecological landscapes, with the peak of White Chrysanthemum at an altitude of 1395 meters, the highest peak in the county. The Mei Ling Grand Canyon within the core scenic area is an important tributary of the Changshan River. There are numerous waterfalls in the mountain streams, forming more than fifty ponds, connected by the mountain flow, including ponds such as White Chrysanthemum, Fairy, Black Dragon, Dragon Gate, and Echoing Water, all exceptionally beautiful. The canyon is paved with bluestone, with covered bridges connecting, lush greenery, bamboo swaying, and peculiar rocks standing, creating a serene and pleasant scenery.
The living area within the scenic spot includes tens of thousands of acres of bamboo forests, radar stations, the Stone Gate One Line Sky, and Tianchi (Guoyi Mountain Residence) among other attractions. The surrounding landscapes such as the Colorful Canyon, Jin Yuan Ancient Village, and Furong Grand Canyon also have unique characteristics. The scenic area is dotted with nearly 20 forest homes and homestays, with simple and unadorned exteriors, comfortable interiors, complete facilities, natural and pure food, and considerate service from the hosts, allowing visitors to relax and experience a leisurely rural mountain life. Opening hours: The scenic area is open year-round from 08:30 to 16:30. Preferential policies: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) enter for free; those between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive) pay half price. Students with student IDs pay half price. Seniors aged 60 years (inclusive) and above with ID cards or senior citizen cards pay half price. Journalists with valid IDs pay half price. Teachers in Zhejiang Province with 30 years of teaching experience pay nothing. Military personnel, including active-duty soldiers, disabled veterans, martyr’s military dependents, family members of soldiers who died in service, and survivors of deceased soldiers, enter for free with relevant documents. Disabled people with relevant documents enter for free. Overseas Chinese returnees and medical workers from all over the country (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) with valid IDs (practicing physician certificates or practicing nurse certificates) can enjoy free or partial discounts, with some discounts targeting medical workers who went to the front line in Hubei.
