Meili Ancient Town is known as “Gouwu Ancient Capital · Meili New Town”. It is located in the southeast of Wuxi City. It was the capital when Tai Bo, the eldest son of King Tai of Zhou at the end of the Shang Dynasty, established the state of Gouwu. The Tai Bo Temple still maintains the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties and is surrounded by yellowstone walls. You can visit the Tai Bo Temple, which is tall and majestic. There is also the first mountain gate with six stone pillars. The pillars are made of bluestone. Each pillar is 6 meters high. The middle two are decorated with cloud and dragon patterns, and the pillars on both sides are decorated with cranes and clouds. This kind of ancient building is currently rare in China.
