Moon Island, located in the western part of Lu’an City, on the west side of the Pi River, covers an area of approximately 2,250 acres and is adjacent to the bustling city center via Yunlu Bridge.
In ancient times, residents planted peach trees in front of and behind their houses, leading to the formation of a peach blossom grove known as Peach Blossom Valley. The sight of hundreds of acres of peach trees blossoming every spring has attracted countless visitors. Within the island lies a ‘kingdom-claiming’ undergraduate university, the Western Anhui University, where peach and ginkgo trees are planted throughout the campus. Every year, during the season when peach blossoms are in full bloom, many citizens come to enjoy the spring outing.
