The Mountain Top Park is located in the Toutuoling scenic area – to the west of the main peak of Zhongshan Mountain. It is the second peak of Zhongshan Mountain, with an altitude of 425 meters. Here, the terrain is precipitous, with steep cliffs standing upright. The scenery is extremely beautiful. Throughout history, many emperors, generals, and literati have come here to explore and find secluded beauty, leaving many precious relics.
Looking into the distance from a high place, one can take in all the magnificent scenes and great changes of ancient Nanjing. In the scenic area, there is the famous Zijinshan Observatory at home and abroad, the time-honored Tianbao City, as well as many scenic spots such as Liu Jidong, Qinqinshi, Heilongtan, Baiyunquan, and the sitting statue of the first Maitreya Buddha in Jiangnan. There are footpaths between each scenic spot, making it as easy as walking on flat ground for people to climb the mountain and explore secluded places. In order to facilitate tourists to enjoy the scenery, Zhongshan Cemetery invested and built the Zijinshan Sightseeing Cableway in 1993, connecting the Zijinshan Observatory and directly reaching the top of the mountain, becoming one of the new scenic spots in the Zhongshan scenic area.
