The formation of Mu Li Dong dates back to over 200 million years ago, following the formation of the Huanglong limestone group. This majestic and mysterious underground palace has been secretly preserved in Jintang Mountain for more than 200 million years. These masterpieces of nature, unaltered by human hands, are hailed as the ‘original ‘ Nature’s Art Palace’. Particularly, the stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, and stone flowers within the cave, with their diverse shapes and exquisite transparency, form over thirty scenic spots and nine palaces, full of interest and beauty. Entering the mysterious and beautiful underground world of Mu Li Dong, we walk past the Wang Fu Bridge, where Xi Shi once gazed affectionately, and our adventurous journey begins. Passing through Long Xiang Palace, Xing Dou Palace, Hu Shi Palace, Yu Shu Palace, Yu Qin Palace, Wu Yue Palace, Yuan Xiao Palace, and Beng Kua Palace, we travel by boat to our Peng Lai Palace. The unique experience of rowing a boat inside the cave with oars reaching towards the sky is a feast for our eyes. Peng Lai Palace is an underground river in all the caves of Yixing, with shimmering waves above and lotus flowers below in the water, which is the legendary and mysterious Crystal Palace of the Dragon King. Rowing a small boat and drifting with the waves, we emerge from Peng Lai Palace, feeling refreshed and as if we have returned to the human world after a long absence. Opening hours are 08:00-16:30 all year round.
