Mucheng Park has a planned area of 3,800 mu, and the completed area is 2,600 mu. Mucheng Park creates a forest landscape through landscaping, digs lakes to create scenery, expands hydrophilic space, reflecting the characteristics of freshness, naturalness, and returning to simplicity. It highlights four elements: ‘wetland, water town, leisure, and entertainment’. It has multiple functional areas such as riverside scenic area, hydrophilic lakeside, characteristic culture, and commercial delicacies.

It provides a good place for tourism, sightseeing, and leisure for the general public. Not far from the entrance to Mucheng Park is the open and grand Minghu Square. The total area of this square is more than 10,000 square meters. It has a sunken square and a colorful and dynamic musical fountain. Near the river embankment, there is a Linjiang Square with a total area of more than 7,000 square meters.

The wooden corridor frame, giant Taihu stone, and hydrophilic platform on the square form a beautiful scenery. In addition to these two large squares, there are also multiple small squares in the park for tourists to rest and park tourist vehicles. Walking past Minghu Square is Minghu Lake. Minghu Lake accounts for about one-fifth of the area of Mucheng Park, about 600 mu. Minghu Lake is divided into two by the nine-hole bridge.

The lake surface on the north side is shaped like the sun, and the lake surface on the south side is shaped like a crescent moon, resembling the capitalized Chinese character ‘Ming’, in line with the meaning of ‘Minghu Lake’. Walking along the shore of Minghu Lake, you can see the vast lake surface. Small islands in the lake are connected to long embankments, and long embankments are connected to wooden bridges.

The lotus pond and lotus pavilion connected by the lotus bridge are completely integrated into the landscape water system, which is very ornamental and has beautiful scenery. Coming to the shore of Minghu Lake, you can see two strip-shaped beaches and pebble beaches. The artificial beach is about 700 meters long, and the pebble beach is about 300 meters long. The sand and pebbles are all transported from other places.

Here, you can enjoy the fun of walking on the sand with bare feet and relax. There are many naturally formed wetlands in the park. More than 30 aquatic plants such as reeds, lotus, scallions, water lilies, and Thalia dealbata grow in the wetland landscape area. The more than 70 mu of wetlands in the park play an important role in providing water resources, regulating climate, conserving water sources, degrading pollutants, and protecting biodiversity.

Walking through the paths in the park, pieces of unique Taihu stones are amazing. These strange stones are in various shapes, highlighting the uncanny workmanship of nature. In Mucheng Park, seven strange stones are distributed in various places in the park. The larger one is placed on Linjiang Square, facing the Yangtze River, like a steed soaring above the great river. Open all year round and open all day.
