The Mukeng Bamboo Sea is located 5 kilometers east of Hongcun. The verdant bamboo sea surrounds the small village. In addition to the bamboo forest, there are also tea plantations around. It is said that the movie ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ was once filmed here. While visiting Hongcun, you can also visit this place by the way. The main tourist route in the scenic area is circular, divided into Xihai (the gate near the direction of Hongcun), Mukeng Village, and Nanhai (the gate near the direction of Huangshan).
Generally, start from Xihai, climb the observation deck to enjoy the bamboo sea and Mukeng Village, then go down the mountain and pass through Mukeng Village. To the south is Nanhai. Here is a Nanhai Valley. In the valley, there is a Bamboo Monster City. There are many monsters made of bamboo inside, which will’scare’ tourists from time to time, which is very interesting. At the end, you can see Xiunv Lake. The bamboo and the emerald green pool water set off each other, and the scenery is very beautiful. There are accommodations and farm dishes in the Mukeng Bamboo Sea. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of Hongcun, it’s not bad to experience a night here.Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:30 to 18:00.
