Once a year, the scorching midsummer. During summer vacation, even high temperatures cannot dampen people’s enthusiasm for summer. Recently, many friends have asked me what’s fun in Shanghai. In fact, besides the Oriental Pearl Tower and Disneyland, Xiaojia thinks that the most worthwhile place to go should be Shanghai千古情. Whether adults or children, they can spend an extremely happy and meaningful time here.
Shanghai千古情 is located in the Expo Park by the surging Huangpu River. This is a magical space that completely subverts imagination and is also a comprehensive scenic area integrating history, culture and entertainment. Here, you can wander in Crossing Street, Time-Space Street and Eternal Love Street, feeling as if in a different era. You can shuttle between live performances and multimedia light and shadow shows. You can enjoy one beautiful scene after another in Magic Forest, Love Valley and Children’s Playground.
When I first entered the scenic area, a breath of old Shanghai came over. Eternal Love Street is really like a time-travel. It seems to bring you back to the modern Shanghai in an instant. Everywhere is full of retro charm. Old-fashioned signs stand, neon lights flash, and there are also the unique rickshaws at that time on the roadside. Every detail tells the story of old Shanghai. There are costume changing stores with the style of the Republic of China. Young girls put on gorgeous cheongsams one after another and look for the best photo spots in every corner. In the Eternal Love Street area, every corner can be considered a photography studio with the ambiance of the Republic of China era. It’s a place where you can take pictures all day without growing tired. As you stroll, the unique melodies of old Shanghai fill the air, punctuated by the wonderful performance known as the ‘Republic of China Flash Mob’. Elegantly dressed men and women in cheongsams move through the streets, dancing joyfully to the rhythm of the music. The atmosphere reaches a lively climax as snowflakes drift through the air.
Beyond the ‘Republic of China Flash Mob’, another extremely popular performance is the ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ flash mob, the latest addition to the park’s entertainment. Characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, her grandmother, the hunter, and the big bad wolf all make appearances, creating vivid and endearing scenes.
Shanghai千古情 is not just about the dazzling flash mob performances; it also boasts several large-scale productions that are must-see attractions. Among them is the renowned ‘Eternal Love Shanghai’, a performance that narrates the past and present lives of Shanghai across four thematic eras. This epic production features a variety of high-tech stage effects that seem to reach the sky and penetrate the earth. Actors move around and above the audience, and even the scattered big-character posters are meticulously crafted. The show is so captivating that you won’t want to miss a single moment.
Additionally, there’s ‘Earthquake’, a performance that can be described as both shocking and deeply moving, leaving a lasting impression on all who experience it.It is based on the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008 and truly and deeply reproduces the situation on the day of the earthquake. The whole process is very tear-jerking. During the performance, there will be obvious vibrations in the seats. You can also sign up on the spot to be an extra and participate in the performance itself.
If you come with your baby, the parent-child program you must not miss is “WA! Dinosaurs”. This is a story about children accidentally encountering dinosaurs and having a series of adventures. When dinosaurs appear on the stage, the children under the stage cheer happily one by one. The host on the stage will also interact with them from time to time and introduce the names and habits of dinosaurs. The whole process hits the high points of babies. The vivid and interesting dinosaur performance is both educational and entertaining.
Of course, for parents who take their children out, how could a paradise for taking children out only have performances? There is also a children’s playground in this park, including various entertainment facilities such as swimming pools and sand pits. Children still don’t want to leave at all from the opening of the park until it gets dark.
Such a colorful and interesting Thousand-Year-Old Scenic Area. Who will you bring with you this summer?
