Liu Youxin started practicing the cello at a young age. She was enlightened by the cello educator Yang Hongye, the former director of the Orchestral Department of the Xi’an Conservatory of Music. In 2011, she studied Optoelectronic Information Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2016, she was admitted to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the United States with a high scholarship under the cellist Jennifer Kulp. In 2020, she was admitted to the Tianjin Juilliard School and continued her studies under the cellist Kim Yon Jin and the cellist Nicholas Savas of the Shanghai Quartet. In 2022, she joined IME International Music Education and served as the head of the string department.

Yu Yanxin, a young Chinese-American cellist studying in the United States, is the founder of Nanjing Bravo Chamber Music, a cellist of the Nanjing (Golden Eagle) Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nanjing City Orchestra, and the Nanjing Alexander String Orchestra. She graduated from Roberts Wesleyan University in New York State, USA in 2020 with a major in Music Performance and a minor in Psychology. From 2019 to 2020, she participated in the Cello Special Research Institute of the Eastman School of Music in New York State. In China, she studied under the famous cellist Lu Jun, the director of the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra. In the United States, she studied under professors Lars Kivin (cellist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra), Allen Harris, and Kathleen Murphy.

She held two cello recitals in Rochester, New York State from 2019 to 2020; from 2018 to 2020, she was the founder of the Rococo piano quartet in Rochester, New York State; in 2018, she donated 500,000 yuan of her savings during her study abroad to the China Welfare Foundation in her personal name; in 2018, she initiated a public welfare project to protect the safe growth of rural children and warm the hearts of parents in Beijing. During the epidemic, she donated 1,800 medical first aid kits to the Education Bureau of Shuyang County, Jiangsu Province and Fengxian Primary School respectively.

During the summer of 2018, Yuxin & Yanxin served as volunteers at BenQ Hospital, performing charity concerts at the BenQ Piano Hall. In 2020, they were invited by British pianist Dorian Marko to record Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto in a cloud collaboration. Their performance received acclaim from ‘Pianist Magazine’. On March 8, 2022, they were invited to perform at the Chongqing concert of the well-known actor and singer, Xiao Shunyao. From November 19 to December 11, 2022, they participated in the national tour of 13 cities for the work ‘Han Xizai’s Night Banquet’ by the renowned dramatic director, composer, and conductor, Cai Dongxuan. On December 16, 2022, they were invited to successfully hold a ‘String Beyond Sound’ cello and piano concert at the Fujian Grand Theater. On December 31, 2022, they were invited to perform at the New Year’s Concert of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra and the opening ceremony of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, conducted by the well-known national conductor, Tang Muhai. In the summer of 2023, they were invited to participate in the string accompaniment staff for Zhang Shaohan’s Nanjing concert ‘Fable’. In 2024, they were invited to participate in the Nanjing Yue Opera Troupe’s tour project ‘Dreaming of Red Mansions’, a themed interpretation of a Chinese style concert. In 2024, they established the Happy Soul Piano Trio in Nanjing.
