The science museum is located in the beautiful Zhongshan Cemetery Scenic Area. It is a popular science venue held by Nanjing Benchmark Seismic Station for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction publicity and popularization of earthquake science knowledge. In recent years, with the concern and support of leadership departments at all levels, the science museum has developed from only two exhibition rooms in 1989 to a medium-sized venue with an exhibition hall area of 700 square meters. At present, it has a variety of modern monitoring means such as seismic measurement, geomagnetism, geoelectricity, ground stress and terrain change. Its main task is to quickly report earthquake parameters at home and abroad, participate in international earthquake data exchange, monitor and analyze various earthquake precursors, and submit them to the forecasting department. After visiting the Earthquake Science Museum, you can also enter the observation hall of the seismic station to visit the observation and determination of the above monitoring means and large seismographs, and unveil the mystery of earthquake observation.
