Nanjing Geological Museum

The Nanjing Geological Museum was built in 1935 and is one of the natural science museums with a long history. When coming to Zhujiang Road and entering the gate of the Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration, you can see a red three-story building with German style. This is the Nanjing Geological Museum. The first floor mainly shows the development history of the Geological Research Institute. The second floor is mainly about Chinese stone culture, and the theme of the third floor is mineral resources and geological environment. The most attractive one is the ‘Dinosaur World’ on the second floor. Entering the hall on the second floor, a giant dinosaur skeleton appears in front of you, making people seem to come to the Cretaceous period. In addition to dinosaur skeleton models, precious dinosaur fossils are also displayed here. The Nanjing Geological Museum has now become a comprehensive exhibition hall covering various fields of geoscience. It is renowned at home and abroad for its long history and rich collections. It covers the development history of modern and contemporary geology in China, the origin of the earth and life, and the restoration of the dinosaur world. It is a comprehensive geoscience museum that is vivid, interesting, rich in popular science education significance and geoscience knowledge propaganda.
