The Ming Palace consists of two parts: the imperial city and the palace city. It is magnificent and is the blueprint for the Forbidden City in Beijing. It once served as the imperial palace of the Hongwu, Jianwen, and Yongle dynasties in the early Ming Dynasty. Until Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, moved the capital to Beijing, the Ming Palace gradually fell into disuse. Now only the stone component foundations buried underground remain. The Ming Palace was the imperial palace of the early Ming Dynasty for 54 years. Until 1421, the 19th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, moved the capital to Beijing. Nanjing established Nanzhili. It was still guarded by the royal family and important ministers and had a very important position. After the capital was moved north, the Ming Palace in Nanjing gradually fell into disuse. In the following hundreds of years, natural damage was very serious. During the Xianfeng and Tongzhi periods of the Qing Dynasty, due to the battles between the Taiping Army and the Qing Army, the Ming Palace suffered another major destruction. Except for the stone component foundations buried underground, there are no above-ground buildings left. Today, on the ruins of the Ming Palace, the Ming Palace Square and Wuchao Gate Park have been built. Opening hours: Open all year round from 06:00 to 20:00.
