Pukou Railway Station, also known as Nanjing North Station, was originally built in 1914 and is one of the nine railway stations in China that have preserved their historical charm, earning its place among the nine artistic railway stations in China. Here, you can see the beige main building of the station, the arched rain corridor connecting to the ferry terminal, the former waiting hall (now closed, only viewable through windows), and the platforms used by passengers to board and disembark trains. You can also walk on the railway tracks, take photos, and see the vintage green-skinned train parked on the tracks. It is particularly romantic to walk on the tracks at dusk.

As a witness to history, many significant historical events in modern China have occurred here, including the setting of Zhu Ziqing’s ‘Back Shadow’ and the arrival of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s funeral carriage for a welcoming ceremony.

The station’s late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China architectural style has attracted numerous film and television production crews to shoot their outdoor scenes, turning it into a stage for many dramas. Over the years, films and TV series shot at Pukou Railway Station include ‘Sun Yat-sen’, ‘Endless Love’, and ‘Golden Powder Family’, among others.

The station is open all year round, with full-day access, subject to the daily operating status.
