Nantong Meteorological Museum, officially established in March 2015, is the second meteorological industry museum in China. The museum comprehensively and systematically showcases the long-standing meteorological culture of China and the historical and current development of Nantong’s meteorological endeavors. Over a century ago, the pioneering national entrepreneur Mr. Zhang Jian, as one of the pioneers of ‘opening one’s eyes to the world,’ funded the construction of a meteorological observatory on the summit of Junshan in Nantong. Today, the Junshan Meteorological Observatory has been renamed to Junshan Meteorological Science Popularization Pavilion and is open to the public. The opening hours are all year round, Tuesday, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
