National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine

The National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine in Taipei, established in 1969, primarily honors approximately 390,000 soldiers and officers who sacrificed their lives in wars. Additionally, the hourly Changing of the Guard ceremony is one of the popular tourist attractions. The massive archway at the entrance features the words ‘Martyrs’ Shrine’ in the center, flanked by ‘To Die for a Noble Cause’ and ‘To Uphold Righteousness,’ symbolizing the fearless spirit of the martyrs. Surrounding the shrine, over 10,000 square meters of lush green grassland, nestled among the mountains, create a tranquil and solemn atmosphere, further highlighting the solemnity of the structure. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00 all year round. Accessibility services include wheelchair-accessible entrances.
