The Netherlands Flower Sea, renowned as ‘China’s No. 1 tulip sea’, is located in the north of Dafeng urban area and the west of the central area of Xinfeng Town. It is a 30-minute drive from Yancheng Airport and a 10-minute drive from Dafeng urban area. In 1919, Zhang Jian invited experienced and technologically advanced Dutch water conservancy experts who were rich in reclaiming land from the sea to plan farmland water conservancy projects in Xinfeng.
A four-level drainage and irrigation water system of districts, frames, rows and strips was established. Based on the original terrain, the Netherlands Flower Sea is renovated without changing the original landform. With ‘pastoral, river network, wooden buildings, windmills and flower seas’ as design elements and famous Dutch flower tulips as features, it creates a flower sea with Dutch style integrating sightseeing, entertainment, catering and planting, making it a beautiful business card of Xinfeng’s cultural tourism. The Netherlands Flower Sea adds a strong exotic atmosphere to the ‘hometown of milu deer’. Coming here, people are fully immersed in the sea of flowers, and even breathing becomes smooth. Accompanied by several tall windmills, they move with the wind by the stream. There are also large patches of tulip flowers swaying in the wind. Red, purple, yellow and white, like lively elves. Tourists stroll in the sea of flowers, and children chase and play in the sea of flowers. The exotic atmosphere is coming, forming a light and shadow picture with super three-dimensional sense. ‘Only Love·Drama Fantasy City’ is the second director work of Wang Chaoge’s ‘Only’ series of drama fantasy cities after the’real-scene performance series of ‘Impression’ and the’situational experience drama series of ‘See Again’. ‘Only Love·Drama Fantasy City’ is composed of six theaters of ‘Like the Moon’, ‘Like the Heart’, ‘Like the Flower’, ‘Like the Song’, ‘Like the Old’ and ‘Like the Ruyi’. The stage design spans more than a hundred years from the Republic of China to the contemporary era. The design theme is derived from love, and the formal motif is derived from flowers. ‘Love arises from flowers’ has promoted the birth of the architectural community of the drama fantasy city. There are a total of more than 50 performances. The creation starts from the overall concept of ‘drama +’. It skillfully integrates the indispensable love in the world and the sea of flowers.
