Nineteen Peaks is located in the southwest of Xinchang County, between Chengtan Stream and Hanfei Stream, comprising three sub-attractions: Nineteen Peaks, Qian Zhang You Valley, and Chongyang Palace. The natural scenery here is distinguished by its Danxia landform, and Qian Zhang You Valley has been a filming location for CCTV’s martial arts dramas such as ‘The Smiling, Proud Wanderer’ and ‘The Return of the Condor Heroes’, making it a must-visit for martial arts enthusiasts. The three sub-attractions are adjacent and interconnected by roads. There are two entrances; the main one is near Ya Village by Nineteen Peaks, easily accessible by car via the county road Xinpan Line. Urban and rural buses also pass by here, and after getting off the bus and crossing the bridge, it’s a 300-meter walk to the scenic area parking lot. The other entrance is on the side of the main entrance of Qian Zhang You Valley, which is also convenient for self-driving, but there are no buses. The vast majority of tourists start their journey from Ya Village. It’s worth visiting Nineteen Peaks, although climbing is required, the mountain is not high, and it’s manageable for most people to walk slowly. To visit Qian Zhang You Valley alone, one can take a bus to Chongyang Palace Bridge and walk for about 20 minutes to arrive (passing through a 600-meter tunnel), or visit Chongyang Palace together. Qian Zhang You Valley is at the foot of the mountain, mostly flat roads, and can be toured in about two hours, which is relatively easy. Many tourists choose to buy a combined ticket and spend a day visiting Nineteen Peaks, then Qian Zhang You Valley, followed by Chongyang Palace, or vice versa, without returning. Nineteen Peaks features nineteen peaks with magnificent shapes and colors, resembling incense burners, cable cars, saddles, chessboards, and more. Walking through these narrow peaks, although not as panoramic as the view from below, offers a unique feeling of being in a fairyland amidst clouds and mists. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the bottom to General Rock (New Bride Peak), from where one can head right to Sea-View Peak (with an elevation of about 400 meters), which has a nearly 70-degree steep ladder, less than 100 steps with handrails to assist, but still quite challenging. Heading left from General Rock leads to Saddle Peak, where one can overlook the convergence of two rivers from the small pavilion at the peak, with different colored fields in the distance like a colorful flat painting, steep cliffs underfoot, and rugged mountain ranges on both sides, a classic view of Nineteen Peaks. The cave at the waist of Saddle Peak is a naturally formed hall over a person’s height, with a half-mountain pavilion built in front, also offering a view. Continuing forward from Saddle Peak are Cable Car Peak and Incense Burner Peak, which can be viewed from a distance or climbed via a small path and then returned. On the way back, one can either retrace the steps down the mountain or choose the fork leading to Qian Zhang You Valley, crossing a small wooden bridge to enter the scenic area. Qian Zhang You Valley can be toured in about one or two hours, featuring bamboo forests, streams, and many cliffs and strange rocks. As a filming location for martial arts blockbusters, the scenic area also includes artificial landscapes such as the ‘Eagle Shooting Cottage’ and ‘Wolong Manor’, allowing visitors to reminisce about the martial arts drama plots while touring, creating an immersive experience.
The Chongyang Palace, located on the north side of the Qian Zhang Yougu, serves as a film shooting base and Taoist temple. Visitors may encounter film crews shooting here. It is approximately two to three kilometers away from Ya Zhuang Village. Exploring the Nineteen Peaks requires half a day or a full day; for those needing accommodation, Ya Zhuang Village offers numerous agritourism options with standard rooms priced between 60-100 yuan. Qingyouju, located at the bridgehead, is one such place, offering clean rooms and delicious local dishes such as free-range chicken and stream fish. Opening times are 07:00-17:00 all year round; 07:30-16:30 all year round. The Feilong Plank Road operates from 07:30-15:00 during summer and 08:00-14:30 during winter.
