The City God Temple, also known as Ningbo Prefecture Temple, is a well-established commercial hub in the heart of Ningbo City. It is always bustling with tourists who come to experience the local culture. Here, one can easily find Ningbo’s famous sweet rice balls known as ‘Gang Ya Gou’, as well as various regional snacks, making it an ideal place to immerse in the folk customs of Ningbo.
The scale of Ningbo City God Temple is among the largest in the country, with thousands of shops gathered here. While strolling and tasting local delicacies, visitors can always find interesting trinkets to purchase.

The Tianfeng Pagoda to the south of the temple is a landmark of the area, from which one can ascend to enjoy a panoramic view of Ningbo’s bustling urban scene, offering a unique experience. Not far to the north of the temple is Tianyi Square, a newly developed commercial district of Ningbo with a more modern shopping environment.


To the west lies Yuehu Park, a tranquil scenic belt in the city center. Strolling along the lake and admiring the pavilions and gardens is a very pleasant experience. The temple is open year-round from 08:30 to 16:30, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
