Our Lady’s Church, located in Chengzi Village on Weizhou Island, is a small chapel built in 1882, featuring a European rural Gothic architectural style. The church’s exterior walls are weathered and ancient, yet the interior is remarkably clean and tranquil. It also boasts a simple courtyard, which is a reason why many tourists enjoy taking photos here. Also known as the Our Lady’s Temple, it was constructed by French missionaries who came to China during the late Qing Dynasty. In front of the church stands a three-story square bell tower, with the words ‘Our Lady’s Church’ carved on the front. Behind the bell tower is a rectangular church building and a two-story annex. Upon entering the church, you will find the interior to be quite simple and unadorned, which contributes to the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Additionally, it is said that the French priest who oversaw the construction of the church is buried within its grounds. Opening hours are from 08:30 to 18:00 all year round.
