Oriental Bonsai Garden at Dragon Dream is located on the west side of Taihu Ancient Town, backed by the Bian Mountain, and neighboring the Taihu Lake, covering an area of nearly 500 acres. The garden is divided into six core themes for appreciation: plum blossoms, azaleas, roses, cherry blossoms, crape myrtles, and bonsai, with tens of thousands of plants cultivated, including over 10,000 plum trees of various varieties such as red plums, beauty plums, winter sweet, apricot plums, green calyx plums, and tea plums. The garden boasts approximately 200 days of blooming throughout the year, making it one of the largest bonsai gardens themed around plum blossoms in China to date.
Scattered throughout the garden are peculiar rocks, with the ‘Treasure of the Garden’ being a Taihu Longyin stone, standing about 12 meters high and weighing 120 tons, which is one of the largest existing single-peak ornamental lake stones in China. The entire sculpture resembles a giant dragon howling at the sky, facing the Taihu Lake, leaping out of the world, praying for favorable weather conditions, and is of great ornamental value. Famous mountains, wetlands, ancient pagodas, and peculiar rocks complement the plum blossoms, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere within the garden.

When the plum blossoms are in full bloom, the garden is filled with a profusion of flowers, sparse shadows, and floating fragrances. The winding water, cold pools, and bamboo pavilions for viewing the scenery are interspersed throughout, and the greenways around the lake crisscross, allowing visitors to stroll and breathe in ‘freshness at every step,’ offering a serene and beautiful experience. The garden is open all year round from 09:00 to 16:00.
