On a sunny day, I finally embarked on a journey to the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. As an iconic structure of Shanghai, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower has always been a place I longed to visit. Today, I had the opportunity to witness its grandeur and experience the prosperity and magnificence of this city.

Upon first seeing the Oriental Pearl Tower, I exited from Lujiazui Station on metro line 2 and walked for about 10 minutes to reach the base of the tower. Looking up, I saw the tower body composed of 11 spheres of different sizes, staggered and linked together, resembling a string of bright pearls inlaid in the blue sky. The tower soared into the clouds, complementing the modern buildings of Lujiazui behind it, forming a magnificent urban canvas.

After purchasing the ticket, I entered the tower with the crowd. The high-rise buildings were neatly arranged like building blocks, the Huangpu River flowed through the city like a blue ribbon, with ships passing back and forth on the river surface, and the Bund’s architecture exhibition group in the distance was even more enchanting. I couldn’t help but marvel, this is Shanghai, a dynamic and charming international metropolis.

Next, I went to the 259-meter fully transparent suspended observation corridor. The floor here is made of transparent glass, standing on it feels like being suspended in the air, which is both thrilling and exciting. I mustered up my courage and slowly walked onto the glass floor, overlooking the city below, the thrilling and shocking sensation left me with a lasting memory.

Lunch at the revolving restaurant. During lunchtime, I went to the Oriental Pearl Tower Sky Revolving Restaurant located on the 267-meter upper sphere. Known as Asia’s highest revolving restaurant, it has an operating area of 1500 square meters and can accommodate 350 guests at the same time. The restaurant is elegantly decorated, and the service is thoughtful, making people feel at home. As the restaurant slowly rotates, I savored the exquisite cuisine while enjoying the beautiful scenery outside the window. The design that rotates once every two hours allowed me to fully appreciate Shanghai’s towering buildings, crisscrossing avenues, and the beauty of the Pujiang River in 360 degrees. This unique dining experience added a few more points to my love for the Oriental Pearl Tower.

Visiting the Old Shanghai Exhibition Hall. After lunch, I took the elevator to the Shanghai Urban Development Exhibition Hall located in the zero-meter lobby. Here, the rich content of Shanghai’s modern historical changes is displayed, from the streets and buildings of old Shanghai to people’s lifestyles, all presented before my eyes. It felt as if I had traveled through time and returned to an era filled with stories and legends.

Oriental Pearl Tower at Dusk. In the evening, I returned to the observation deck of the Oriental Pearl Tower. At this time, the tower body was illuminated by colorful lights, like a huge pearl inlaid on the skyline of Shanghai.
