Panlong Gorge is located in Guanxu Town, Deqing County, Zhaoqing City, and is a comprehensive ecological tourism area. It boasts a rich variety of flora and a pristine environment, making it a photography base for the Guangdong Photographers Association.
The tour of Panlong Gorge begins at the waterfall area near the mountaintop, where there are clusters of large and small water wheels, creating a fairy-tale-like water wheel world, which is one of the largest water wheel landscapes in Guangdong.
Then, visitors traverse the waterfall groups along the plank road, which are divided into eastern and western parts with an overall drop of about 300 meters. The eastern waterfall has four to five waterfalls with drops over 60 meters within a distance of less than 200 meters, while the western waterfall group is famous for its grandeur, with the Tenglong Waterfall having a drop of about 86 meters.
After touring the Panlong Gorge, visitors descend to the Lavender World, where fields are planted with various species of lavender, including winged lavender, narrow-leaf lavender, and toothed lavender. Each flower has a unique scent, and winged lavender blooms all year round. Of course, the season when lavender is in full bloom is spring, making the springtime here exceptionally beautiful.
Panlong Gorge also offers rafting and hot springs to enjoy, which can be chosen according to the season. If you visit Panlong Gorge in summer, you might want to experience the ‘First Drift of Chinese Warriors,’ which is very thrilling. In winter, you can soak in the hot springs to relieve fatigue.
