Peach Blossom Island is located at the heart of Jinji Lake scenic area in Suzhou. It is distinct from the Peach Blossom Island in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, sharing only the same name. The island spans over 10 hectares, approximately 150 acres. During the season when peach blossoms are in full bloom, the island is a spectacle of vibrant flowers, with peach blossoms constituting fifty percent of the total vegetation.
There are two scenic structures on Peach Blossom Island, one of which is the iconic ‘Zi Yun Pavilion’ in Jinji Lake. ‘Zi Yun Pavilion’, derived from the phrase ‘purple qi comes from the east’, offers a panoramic view of the lake when viewed from a height. The other is the Peach Blossom Spring Teahouse, which combines classical architectural style with modern Chinese decorative style, providing a delightful experience of sipping tea by the water. The island is open from 08:00 to 16:30 all year round; and from 07:30 to 17:00 all year round.
