Since the Ming Dynasty, Taohuajian has been renowned for its blooming peach blossoms in spring. Sheng Shitai, a famous scholar in Moling in the Ming Dynasty, described in ‘Records of Qixia Mountain’: ‘In late spring and early summer, red blossoms and green shades are scattered on both sides. Tourists walking under them have colors of the season on their clothes.’ The blue waves and red rain, hidden deep in the mountains, are wonderful places for sightseeing. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, Li Xiangjun, a famous courtesan in Qinhuai River, also lived in seclusion here. After her death, she was buried by the side of Taohuajian. To commemorate Li Xiangjun and also expand the scenic area and improve the microclimate of the mountain forest, the Qixia Mountain Scenic Area spent two years building the Peach Blossom Lake scenic area in the middle reaches of Taohuajian. It is opposite to Li Xiangjun’s tomb across the road. During this period, there are trestle bridges, ancient maples, peach forests, pavilions, lakes, Die Langyan, Tian Kaiyan, and the imperial garden. When tourists come here, they will all feel suddenly enlightened and soul-stirring. At the same time, feelings of missing the past and thinking of Li Xiangjun will arise spontaneously. Opening hours: Open from 7:00 to 17:00 all year round. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
