The Han City Scenic Area is only a 10-minute walk from Peixian Bus Station. It includes Han Street, the Former Temple of Emperor Gaozu of Han, Gefeng Terrace (Peixian Museum), and Han City Park. There are many imitation Han Dynasty architectures. At first glance, it is quite imposing. Upon closer inspection, it lacks delicacy. Rather than a place to appreciate Han culture, it is a better place for walking and leisure.
Han Street is a commercial street occupied by various shops, restaurants, and KTVs. All are built in the style of Han Dynasty architecture. The bustling area of the entire Peixian is here. The Former Temple of Emperor Gaozu of Han in the south of Han Street is very small. There is only one main hall, ‘Lepi Hall’. In the main hall, there is a gilded giant statue of Liu Bang, Emperor Gaozu of Han. On both sides are portraits of the 24 emperors of the Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties. In the courtyard, there are green pines and cypresses. There is the ‘Stele Inscription of the Former Temple of Emperor Gaozu of Han’ by Liu Zongyuan of the Tang Dynasty. Opposite the Former Temple of Emperor Gaozu of Han is Gefeng Terrace. Inside Gefeng Terrace is the Peixian Museum, displaying a small number of exhibits such as early Western Han Dynasty pictorial stones and painted pottery figurines of the Western Han Dynasty. The highlight of Gefeng Terrace is that it is the highest point of the Han City Scenic Area. Standing on the top floor and looking down at the成片 imitation Han Dynasty architectures, one can vaguely imagine the majestic spirit of ‘A great wind rises, clouds are flying’. Han Street ends at Tangmu Road in the south. On the south side of Tangmu Road is Han City Park. The Han Palace Area is the core scenic area of the park. The Han Soul Palace is the main building of the Han Palace Area. The first floor is inlaid with bluestone reliefs around it, engraved with patterns of Han Dynasty pictorial stones. The second floor is ‘Liu Bang sitting in the palace’, and the wax sculptures are lifelike. The third floor is painted with ‘Picture of Liu Bang’s Carriage Travel’. In addition, there is a wide lake in the park. At sunset, taking a walk around the lake has a nice view.Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00.
