Pengcheng is a place where dramatic performances thrive, and its elegance is shared by all. Visitors can enjoy the grand lake and island live performance ‘Pengcheng’s Splendor’, which takes place on water, with islands as stages, and boats as seats.
The performance subverts the traditional model of large theaters, grand venues, massive investments, and a sea of actors in tourist performances. Fully loaded passenger boats depart from the Pengcheng Splendor Visitor Center pier, passing through eight nodes on a 3.3-kilometer route.
During the 70-minute journey, the natural scenery of Yunlong’s mountains and waters serves as the backdrop, integrating advanced technological means such as sound, light, electricity, water, and fire with the authentic performances of actors. This creates a vibrant depiction of Pengcheng’s prosperity during Su Shi’s two-year tenure as the prefect of Xuzhou, and his enduring bond with the city. Through Su Shi’s perspective, the performance offers a new interpretation of Xuzhou, presenting it in a spectacular display of light and shadow, and time and space transcendence.
A new water-based immersive night tour experience is available from November 5th to 17th, Monday to Thursday, and Sunday, from 17:30 to 19:50; from November 19th to 20th, Monday to Thursday, and Sunday, from 17:30 to 19:50; from November 5th to 17th, Friday to Saturday, from 17:30 to 21:30; from November 19th to 20th, Friday to Saturday, from 17:30 to 21:30. November 18th is closed for the entire day.
