Pinghu International Tourism and Shopping Town focuses on the e-commerce industry. Based on Pinghu’s developed characteristic industrial clusters, it is supported by information big data, intelligent logistics, entrepreneurship and innovation. It integrates industrial applications, offline experience of cross-border e-commerce, and ecological and cultural tourism. It strives to create an international e-commerce characteristic town suitable for living, working and traveling. The establishment of the town also plays an important role in promoting the further deepening integration of Zhejiang and Shanghai. According to the idea of integrated development of industry, culture, tourism and community functions, Pinghu International Tourism and Shopping Town is planned to form an overall layout of ‘one core, one axis, two corridors and four parks’. The town organically combines online cross-border import and export with offline experiential tourism and focuses on e-commerce in the information economy. Online projects that have been in operation and under construction or in negotiation include Yangbai Fen (pure imported goods), Jiamin E-commerce (Mondelez International), Suning Tesco and Xinxiu E-commerce (exporting luggage cases and having overseas warehouses). At the same time, a 167,000-square-meter offline commodity exhibition area and experience area are planned. In the first phase, there are more than 20,000 kinds of pure imported commodities such as food, clothing, leather, home furnishings and daily necessities available for purchase.
