Pinglin Library is located in the Dushu Lake Campus of Soochow University, a modern library funded by Mr. Tang Zhongying, a renowned industrialist of Chinese descent in the United States, and named after his father. The library, resembling a ‘crystal lotus’, covers an area of approximately 2.42 hectares and has a total construction area of about 32,000 square meters. It primarily collects books and periodicals in the fields of humanities and arts, as well as ancient books and special collections, with a particular strength in chemistry, chemical engineering, and biomedicine. It is open from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and from 08:30 to 17:00 on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) throughout the year.
