Sheung Shui Reservoir is located within the Sheung Shui Country Park in Tai Po, Hong Kong, adjacent to the Chek Lap Kok Strait. It is a large artificial freshwater reservoir for storing drinking water, second only to the High Island Reservoir. Surrounding the reservoir is the Sheung Shui Reservoir Country Trail, which is approximately 15.5 kilometers long. The trail begins at Pak Sha Tau at the end of the main dam and circles the freshwater lake until it ends at Wu Kau Tang. The trail has many ups and downs along the way, making it one of the more challenging country trails in Hong Kong. It is open all year round and available 24/7.
