Introduction:

This is the mansion of Jirgalang, the sixth son of Shuerhaqi, who was the younger brother of Nurhachi, the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Jirgalang is also recognized as one of the founding fathers of the Qing Dynasty. He is the only person in the history of the Qing Dynasty, aside from Dorgon, who was given the title of ‘uncle prince’. The mansion, which faces south, covers a vast area and is adorned with magnificent buildings. It is divided into three distinct parts from east to west: the eastern part houses the main halls, the central part serves as the courtyard residence, and the western part was originally designed as a garden.

Seventeen princes have lived within these walls. The last prince to reside here mortgaged the property to the Xishiku Catholic Church. Later, it also served as the campus for China University. Today, only the buildings in the eastern part remain, including the street gate, main gate, main hall, five eastern annex buildings, three western annex buildings, and five main bedrooms. One can still faintly perceive the former grandeur and style of the mansion.

The eastern part of the mansion now serves as the office of the China Education Development Foundation. Additionally, a middle school has been constructed on the original site of the former garden, ‘Huiyuan’. The mansion is open to the public from 09:00 to 21:00 every day from January 1st to December 31st.
