Pu Garden, constructed in the 1930s by businessman Wang Zhaoming, is a Republic of China architecture and a relatively young garden in this ancient city.
Having weathered storms and been occupied by the Japanese military, the garden later served as a sanatorium in the 1950s and was part of the Suzhou Municipal Health Bureau’s Epidemic Prevention Station. By the end of 2004, it was handed over to the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film, and Television for use and management.
Currently, it houses units such as the Jiangsu Province Suzhou Kunqu Opera Troupe, Suzhou Printmaking Institute, Suzhou Sichuan-Chongqing Chamber of Commerce, Taohuawu Folk Customs Museum, and Taohuawu Woodcut New Year Picture Museum.
Opening hours are subject to the garden’s daily operational status.
