Qi Xuan Temple, constructed during the Ming Dynasty, is a renowned Buddhist temple located along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. During the tumultuous years, the temple suffered severe damage, and the current structure is a recent reconstruction. What is truly precious is the survival of two relatively intact Ming Dynasty stone sculptures of Buddha, one depicting a Bodhisattva and the other a Luohan, each with distinct expressions.

West of the Mahavira Hall, there is a natural limestone cave known as Qi Xuan Cave, also called Bai Yun Cave, or colloquially known as the Immortal’s Cave. The cave spans an area of over one hundred square meters, making it one of the larger individual chambers among the natural karst caves in Xuzhou.
